Multimatte
- One of the things that compositing artists always need and need in abundance are masks or mattes that give them the ability to both isolate and then work on very specific aspects of a composition. If I, for instance, wanted to perform a color shift on the umbrella of our lead doll here or maybe even the fabric draping in the back drop, then we would really want to have masks for those objects. One of the go to tools in V-Ray, for awhile now, when it comes to creating such masks has been the Multimatte render element which has essentially been designed to create selection masks based on either an objects G-Buffer or material ID setting. As the doll objects in this scene have already been setup with G-Buffer IDs or more specifically object IDs. I am going to go ahead and make use of those for this particular demonstration.
