Navigating in Walkthrough mode
- [Instructor] 3ds Max has a very useful technique for navigating in a perspective or camera view port, and that's known as walkthrough mode. It allows you to navigate just like you're in a virtual environment, in a game or simulation. Walkthrough mode can be helpful for previewing an actual walkthrough animation, or for setting camera framings. To activate walkthrough mode, go into a perspective or camera view port, and in the lower right corner, in the view port navigation controls, there's a hand icon labeled pan view. Click and hold that button. You'll get a fly out, and choose the icon that looks like a walking person. And now you're in walkthrough mode, and you've also chosen the walkthrough button to be visible from that fly out. Click and drag in a perspective or camera view, and you'll be able to pan and tilt in that view. Walkthrough mode uses keyboard shortcuts for all commands.
