Procedural materials
- [Narrator] Creating and using procedural materials for the bulk of your material library helps avoid some costly time associated with UVW mapping, as procedural materials don't always require that. We'll be using a physical material to show how high fidelity materials can be created for great image renders. The physical material is kind of replacement for the mental ray arch and design material, and is specifically designed to be used with the arnold renderer. So, let's take a look at this scene, what we've got, and let's just do a quick render to show kind of where we're at. Before we do the render, though, let's make sure your render set up is correct. Click on the teapot with the gear there, and then make sure your output size is about 1200 by 500, and then under system, make sure Legacy 3dx Max support is checked on. Go ahead and close that, and under your rendering environment, we'll go to that tab, that part there. Make sure your background color is set to about 33, 33, 33…
