- [Instructor] Despite the fact that it doesn't support ray tracing, the Quicksilver hardware renderer is capable of production quality if you know how to tweak it and set up your scene. This can come in very handy when you need results quickly. Arnold is a great global illumination engine, but it can be very slow, especially for animation. Quicksilver supports physical lights and materials and with a couple of tricks we can make it look almost as good as Arnold. Let's go into the Render Setup window and set the production renderer over to Quicksilver. Go into the Renderer tab and I want to increase the quality a little bit. I'll set the Iterations to 512. Scrolling down into Visual Style & Appearance, we mostly want to keep the defaults here. The Rendering Level should be Realistic, with Textures and Transparency enabled.
