- The tools on the modeling ribbon are a superset of the editable poly tools on the modify panel. The ribbon includes all of the modify panel tools, and additionally has some tools that are not found on the modify panel. One of those is swift loop, which is extremely useful for inserting detail on a complex or curved mesh. I'll select the seat cushion and in the ribbon, switch over to modify mode and then go down a couple of levels to the bottom of the stack until it reads out editable poly. And we can choose to enable show end result here so we can see the final smooth result. I want to insert an edge loop to add detail especially at the bottom of the seat cushion here. I'll tumble or orbit with alt + middle mouse button. Previously in the course we've seen how to insert edge loops and add detail using the quick slice and cut tools, neither one of those would work in this situation terribly well. And it's…
