- [Narrator] The final render elements that we will need in order to successfully recreate our beauty render in a comp will be the refraction and subsurface scattering options, and so let's quickly add those to our working list. Now, the refraction element stores information that is pulled from scene materials that have refractive properties associated with them. So, maybe glass or water for instance. And so if we take a render of the scene, we can see that we have glass material that has been applied to both the glazing, this in turn refracting the HDR image that we are using as a background in the scene. And we also have our glass objects sitting on the work surface next to the sink. Good to keep in mind then, that a lot of render elements rely on materials settings for the information that they will carry. So the refraction element, for instance, will to a large extent depend on the IOR value being used in an applied…
