Rendering a technical illustration

- [Instructor] In the previous movie, we set up an isometric projection for a technical or engineering rendering, and we can extend that now to include a line drawing using the Arnold toon map and contour rendering. Let's go into the Render Setup dialog. And in the Arnold Renderer tab, since we're going to be doing a line drawing, we don't actually need any bounce light. To speed up our rendering, let's turn the ray depth down to zero for the diffuse and the specular components. We don't have any transparent materials in this shot, so the transmission rays don't matter. To get better quality to the lines, let's increase the camera anti-aliasing samples up to five. Scroll down. And in the Filtering roll-up, very importantly, we need to change the sample filter type. The default is Gaussian. For the contour rendering to work, it needs to be Contour.
