Rendering in the viewport with ActiveShade
- [Instructor] Although the material editor renders preview images to give you an idea of what your material looks like, practically speaking, you'll need to render in the viewports to evaluate materials on actually scene objects. Let's look at how to render in the viewport. Because of the particular requirements of my screen capture, I'm going to use this lower left viewport in order to render the materials. I want that to be a perspective view. Switch over to a perspective view by clicking on the viewport name, in this case, Left, and choose Perspective. We can orbit around with Alt and middle mouse button, and maybe back out with Ctrl + Alt, middle mouse button. For material previews, we need to be in shaded mode. We can drop out of wireframe mode by going to the right most of these menus in the viewport, and we can disable Wireframe Override. We can also do that with a keyboard shortcut.
