Rounding corners with Chamfer
- Another important tool in Polygon Modeling is chamfer which allows us to round off hard edges such as the corners of these propeller struts. Once again this is an editable poly object with symmetry applied and we want to edit it before the symmetry, at the bottom of the stack. So select the object and in the ribbon activate modify mode and go down to the bottom of the stack by clicking previous modifier a couple of times, until editable poly is displayed. And we want to select the edges to be rounded or filleted or chamfered. And let's get in closer with control alt and er middle mouse, and we want to be in edge sub-object mode and we want to select all of the corner edges, for example the place where the strut meets the chassis we can double click on one of those edges to select it's edge loop and we want to go around the model and continue to select edge loop for edges. Hold down control and click or double click to add to the selection, so we can orbit around, hold down control…
