Setting resolution and aspect ratio in Render Setup

In the last movie we enabled safe frames to crop the viewport to the aspect ratio of the rendering. Now lets see how to control the aspect ratio of the rendering. And that's done from the render set up dialog. It's a property of the renderer, not of the camera itself. Go to render setup. On the main toolbar we've got the teapot icons. Render setup is the one that looks like a teapot with a gear. In the render setup dialog in the common tab in the output size section we can plug in pixel values to determine the aspect ratio. So for example, we can choose some presets if you want to do an HDTV production. The output size has a pull down list, currently labeled custom. Click on that and choose HDTV near the bottom and we get some presets here. We can click on 1920 by 1080, 1280 by 720 and so on. Or we can go back to the custom and click on one of these, for example, 640 by 480, and when we do that, we change…
