Software versions used in this course

- [Instructor] One of the things that we will want to be clear on before starting to work along with the exercises in this course would be the versions that I am going to be using in the presentations of the software applications under discussion, so 3ds Max and V-Ray Next. On the Max side of things then, I'm going to be using Max 2018. Although, almost any version of Max that is supported by V-Ray Next will allow you to work along with and benefit from this course. 3ds Max 2017 through to 2019 probably being most compatible with the V-Ray tools that we will be using, though. In the V-Ray camp, I'm going to be working with version 4.10.01, which is essentially V-Ray Next update one. I'm using the educational version here, but the only difference between this and the commercial version of the renderer is the licensing agreement with everything feature-wise being identical. Do be aware, though, that should you be working with versions of either 3ds Max or V-Ray that are different from these, then you may run into some differences regarding both the features and UI layouts that you see. Hopefully, though, this won't have a significant impact on your ability to both work through and learn from this course.
