to do in computer-aided design visualization is a cutaway view in which you chop away part of the model to reveal its interior. And if you are using a polygon mesh object then the Boolean compound object would be the way to accomplish that. But if you've imported your CAD model as a body object in order to preserve its perimetric nature and change its level of detail at any time, then you can't use the Boolean compound object for that. For body objects there's a separate workflow If you want to create a Boolean subtraction or intersection, use a body cutter object. I've got the watch model here provided by Gabriel Corbett of tigerindustrial.com and I want to cut away part of the watch. The easiest way to do that is to use a box primitive. From the create panel under geometry standard primitives, click on box and in the top view drag out to define the footprint of the box so that it encloses the object we want to cut.
