- [Instructor] Image-based lighting can represent any environment or any light source, including studio lights. So there's an interesting new work flow in 3DS Max using an OSL map, which is called HRDI Lights. And in combination with some images of light sources, we can do a studio lighting setup without any actual light objects in the scene. So let's begin, open up the material editor, and create the HDRI Lights map. Right-click in the view and choose maps, OSL, environment, HDRI Lights. And we're taken to the 3DS Max installation directory in which there are a bunch of HDR images of light sources. I've got one of these in my project folder currently. I do recommend that you copy any source files into your current project. I'm going to go to my project folder which is on my desktop. Exercise files. Scene assets, images, HDRI Lights.
