that produces highly realistic results. By layering several effects on one another, the advanced-wood texture gives a pretty faithful reproduction of a natural wood grain. I've got a scene prepared already with a modernist desk, to which we can apply the wood texture. I've already got a material assigned to it. Let's take a look, I'll open up the active-shade window. and no texture as of yet. Let's open the material editor as well. Open the material editor from the main toolbar. And here is the physical material, which is assigned to these two pieces of the desk. And let's add an advanced-wood texture, it's found in the maps section of the material-map browser, in the general category. Drag advanced wood over into the view. And I'll close the material-map browser, I won't be using that again today. Connect the output of the advanced wood to the inputs of the physical material.
