Understand V-Ray Render Elements
- Now that we have our lighting in place, we can start to render. Now, if we want to, we could just render a simple image from our scene and that would look something like this. Now, this may or may not be good enough for your purposes, but if we want to go a little bit further, we can use what are called Render Elements and those allow you to render out specific effects. So if I take a look at some of these, we could have something like a raw lighting pass which is just the light in the scene. We could render out just the reflections, just the shadows, and we have a whole bunch of different ones that we can do such as the depth of the scene, so ZDepth would give me the distance from the camera. Now, each one of these can be layered on top of the original image to enhance the render and make for a composite that looks even better. So we can do this using what are called Render Elements.
