Using the VRmat format
when working in V-Ray, is the VRMat option, previously referred to in some applications as a VisMap material. Indeed, the fact that this material type has been around for quite some time, and has in more recent times been added to V-Ray means that there is already quite a collection of user creator content available online. A quick search for either the vismat or VRMat formats, of resources such as those found at the vismats.com website. To show how this material type works, lets look at how easily we can apply in already created vismat material to our shade a bowl geometry, with perhaps the easiest way to create a VRMat, being to open up the material editor, and once in the VRMat tab, come over to the V-Ray toolbar, and click the VRMat material from file option. Let's then navigate to the exercise files, scene-assets, images, and VRMat folders and then select the champagne glasses entry that we find there.
