Using multiple Skydome lights - 3ds Max Tutorial
From the course: 3ds Max: Rendering with Arnold
Using multiple Skydome lights
- [Instructor] With multiple Skydomes, we can easily switch between different environments, or even combine aspects of different environments. For example, we can derive lighting from one Skydome, and an environment background, or backdrop from another Skydome. I've got two Skydome lights in my scene. The one that's enabled is displayed in yellow in the viewport, and that one has an Arnold Physical Sky applied to it. Let's do an ActiveShade rendering of our physical camera. And I've set up this Physical Sky, so that it closely matches a bitmap environment provided by hdrihaven.com. What we're seeing now is the illumination from the Physical Sky. And we do see the background here, and it's just overexposed or blasted out. Once that's rendered enough, I'm going to make a duplicate of it. I'll just click on Clone Rendered Frame Window, make a copy of that partially completed rendering, and then let's turn this Skydome off…
