- [Illustrator] Too many users, the purpose of the V-Ray bitmap node in max would seem to be pretty much self-explanatory given the name that it has. The problem, of course, is that not everything that seems obvious is necessarily so. with the V-Ray bitmap, definitely coming into that category. And so whilst the V-Ray bitmap node can in many ways be thought of as a straight forward alternative to using the 3ds Max Bitmap node there is so much more that can be done with it as compared to its max counterpart. Two items of which we have already seen in action in chapter one. In that if we want to use either the new UVW randomizer map, all work in the ACCG color space, then we will have to use the V-Ray bitmap option. To demonstrate some of its other potential benefits though let's come to the robot body top in the material editor.
