The V-Ray Light material
- Although not technically speaking a light type as such, the V-Ray light material is certainly a lighting option that is available to us in V-Ray 5, and can indeed come in very useful in certain situations. For instance, in our neon scene, let's repeat the step that we took at the start of the previous exercise by coming to the scene explorer. Well, this time, instead of on hiding the mesh version of the arrow neon object, lets on hide what is actually a renderable spline. Because what you will see is that having created our objects in this particular way if we have it selected and then go ahead and hit the mesh light button on the V-Ray toolbar and the thing actually happens. Which makes perfect sense really given that this isn't a mesh object. Now, assuming that we may have reasons why this can't be turned into a mesh in the scene, let's recreate our neon effect by using the V-Ray light material instead. And so let's…
