- [Instructor] When it comes to creating environments that are lit by what we might refer to as a more natural looking daylight setup, and be that cityscapes, or landscape environments, both V-Ray and 3ds Max offer a number of high quality tools that can be used to help accomplish that goal in a variety of ways. Two of which would be the V-Ray sunlight object and the V-Ray sky high dynamic range environment map. In our start scene, as it currently stands then, we have no lighting setup whatsoever. And indeed, if I go ahead and take her render you can see that what we get is a completely black return as even 3ds Max's default lights have been disabled here so that as we add some daylighting tools to the mix, we will be able to quickly evaluate the look and feel that we are getting from them.
