The V-Ray material
- [Instructor] One brilliant aspect of V-Ray for those who deal mostly in the lighting and rendering of hard surface semi-hard surface, as in perhaps translucent or refractive or fabric models, is the fact that the vast majority of the material needs for those types of objects can be handled via just the V-Ray material. This being an uber-shader that has been designed to be capable of mimicking a huge variety of object or surface types. In fact, if you were to take a close look at the new V-Ray 5 material library that we have already previewed, you would be able to note that almost everything in there has been created using this material. To take a look at the material itself, all we need to do is open up the material editor and then either from the material browser list on the left of the UI or via a right click in the work area add a V-Ray material to the canvas.
