- [Instructor] One of the things that we may or may not be aware of as we make use of V-Ray and 3dsMax are indeed in any DCC application, is the fact that in order to use and support many of the unique and specialized materials and maps that already exist within said programs, Chaos Group have needed to create and install a V-Ray plugin for each of them. In other words they've created a new V-Ray version of H material and/or map type that has been made available. Now because these plugins have been designed and created to run in V-Ray, there really isn't any reason why those same plugins can't be run in any 3D application that uses V-Ray. Enter the V-Ray plugin node material and VRayPluginNodeTex options. A material and map type in Max the material and texture plugins created for V-Ray users in other DCC applications, and then make use of them here in 3dsMax.
