- [Narrator] Whilst the material types that we have available in V-Ray for 3ds Max clearly have a huge role to play in terms of the quality of images that we produce, I think it would probably be also fair to say that the map types installed are equally as important. Especially so, given that V-Ray has in recent years, brought some extremely powerful options into the fold. The way that we access maps in V-Ray is very straightforward, in that with the slate material editor open, we can just click and drag the desired map from the V-Ray section of the map browser in order to drop it onto the work area. We could also use our right click menus in the material editor, if we prefer that approach. Or we could, with the material added to the canvas, simply drag from an input point on the material and add our desired map in that way.
