Viewport navigation shortcuts
- To manipulate the viewports and change your point of view in the 3D scene, use the viewport navigation controls in the lower right corner of the interface, or their associated keyboard shortcuts or hot keys. I've got a toy drone model here, so I'll have something to look at as we manipulate the viewport. First let's look at zoom, which is the little magnifying glass down here. When zoom is enabled, you can just click anywhere in a viewport and you will move closer to that position. And in a perspective view, it's really not a zoom we're actually dollying forward and back. We're moving towards the object. In an orthographic, or 2D view, it does act more like a zoom, which is more of an optical effect. Next we have pan, which is a little hand, and just click and drag to move your point of view left or right, or up and down. And it's more precisely known as a track or truck or pedestal. So that's pan. And then the other really important one is orbit. And that looks like a little planet…
