- [Instructor] One of the things that has always impressed Chaos Group customers in connection with V-Ray has been the sheer number and quality of tools that have been continually added to it even the free point updates of the software. The V-Ray volume grid being a notable addition to this collection. Now, because this is indeed a huge tool inside Max, we will only be able to cover the bare bones of getting it working, but that should be enough for us to at least get up and running with it. To begin with then, we should probably run just quickly through what the tool does and why or when we may want to use it. Well the volume grid is described in the V-Ray documentation as a special kind of volumetric effect that works with grid based cash formats, reading its data from an input file type that itself supports grid based representations of a volume.
