What you should know

- [Instructor] Although I will be doing my best to keep you informed regarding tool locations and any keyboard shortcuts used as we work through this course, I will still be assuming that you are at least somewhat familiar with 3ds Max, the V-Ray renderer and the various substance based applications that we will be using and that you already have all of them installed on your system, along with the substance to 3ds Max plugin that we will discuss in chapter one. If you are new to any of these pieces of software and so need to learn the basics before feeling comfortable at working through this course, then I would strongly recommend checking out some of the great courses that can already be found here in the online training library, such as Joel Bradley's Substance Designer Essential Training and Substance B2M courses, as well as Wes McDermott's Substance Painter Essential Training, all of which can help you get to grips with these varied and powerful software tools.
