White balancing a map
- [Instructor] For better control of the color of environmental lighting, we can white balance an image based lighting solution. In this case, I've got a simple day light set up with an Arnold distant light. And an Arnold sky dome. Let's do an active shade, see what that looks like. The Arnold sky dome provides the sky light from an image of these clouds. And the distant light provides the direct sunlight. The distant light has a color temperature of 4000 degrees. We can see that if we go into its modify panel. And under color intensity, Kelvin value is 4000. And the exposure control in this scene, has a white balance. And the frame buffer here is showing the output of that exposure control. And the white balance there is set to the default D65 or 6500 degrees. And a low color temperature here compared to the exposure control gives the sunlight a warm tint. The background is set at 6500, as well, by default. We can change that to increase the hue contrast between the background and…
