Male 1: We saw how to choose sounds, and where to place the middle notes for various beats. Now I want to talk to you about making everything sound good. The techniques we're going to talk about can be applied with different settings to any genre of music you are making. I'll start with the most important and most accessible elements to us. Volume and panning. In Ableton Live, to adjust the volumes and panning of your drum rack elements, hit the expand button next to the track title. This will show all the different chains in your drum rack with volume, panning, mute and solo buttons. You can start panning your elements and you can reference a real drum kit placement. For example, for right-handed drummer, the hi-hat pedal is on the left. So, if you want your drummer to have a drummer perspective. Pan your hats to the left.
