- So now we're in Pro Tools and what I want to go back to is the thing that I said about creating templates for individual artists that you're working with or projects that you're working on, because those are going to come in really handy here. Now there are undocumented ways to actually create Channel Strip templates in Pro Tools. But this is the way that I do things. It's very simple. First of all, I'm going to go to File, Import, Session Data. And I'm going to go ahead and grab my Vocal Template here, because maybe I just want a little bit of the magic from the Vocal Template plugins on this new Channel Strip I have. But it's not one of those things where I'm going to do a bunch of recording, so I need to import all of those template Channel Strips. What I'll do is, hit Open here, and I'm going to choose on my main playlist options not to import clips and medias.
