- [Instructor] Correctly configuring and connecting equipment in your home studio is essential to working effectively and enjoying music making with a computer. Let's talk about how to connect a typical computer based audio workstation and the recommended way to power your system on and off. If you're setting up your system for the first time, you'll want to start by installing Ableton Live on your computer. You'll also want to check the download pages at ableton.com to make sure that you have the latest version of the program. The first time you start the program, you'll be asked to authorize the program through Ableton's website, where you can create an account and register your serial number. In addition to program updates, you should also download any Live Packs that are available for your version of Live. Live Packs include additional device presets, clips, and samples, and now in version 10, you can look in the packs area of the browser and see which packs have been installed…
