Creating a growl bass sound
- Aggressive bass sounds are heard throughout contemporary production. So let's take a look at how to create that type of sound using analong. So I have exercise 2_04 open here, and you'll notice that we've got one track and on that we've already got one instance of analog, got a few signal processors that are currently disabled, and I've got a limiter on the end of the chain just to catch any peaks. As we start to build this base sound we're going to be increasing levels and I want to make sure I'm not peaking the master out. OK, so let's go over to analog and let's get started. I'm going to disable oscillator two and we'll work with oscillator one alone here. So let's start by putting that into a square wave shape, and I'm going to pull the octave down one octave. I'm going to adjust both the pulse width here and I'm going to go into sync mode in a second. Let's listen to what that does.
