- [Narrator] Now we're gonna check out some creative sampling techniques and some features of Ableton Live's sampler and simpler instruments along the way. What you're looking at right now is a session that I've started with a friend of mine from the band, Superhuman Happiness, my friend, Andrea. And she's singing on this project. We've sampled her vocals and turned them into a melody for the hook. So I'm just gonna select this all with the loop brace, and turn on the loop and let's hear. (techno music) So, basically, that kind of lead sound actually originated from this. (woman singing) So there's some reverb on there that you can hear and some effects, but, essentially, she was ad libbing on the project and while she's writing what the main vocals are gonna be, I took her voice and brought it into sampler to make kind of a cool lead for the hook that she's then gonna sing over. So I'm gonna go back and deactivate this track again, that main vocal line. (techno music) And so we now have the track below it. (techno music) And actually the track below that as well. (techno music) So I just put this second vocal on another track just so I could change the volume and affect it differently. Of course, I could automate the volume of this one and keep it on the same track, but I thought I might wanna put some additional effects on there, EQ it differently, but we can come back to that in just a bit. In this next video I can show you how to set this up and create it.
