- I'm going to show you how you can use flange and delay to get music out of your drums. First let's listen to this drum loop. (electronic drum beat) Pretty standard. So, first I'm going to show you the bus I have set up with this plugin chain, right here. I've got the U-he flanger, the U-he delay, Ableton's filter delay, multiband compressor, auto panner, and some side chain. On the drum track, I've got Sugar Bytes WOW2 for some basic filtering. You've seen that before in earlier chapters. So let me unmute this bus and show you what each of these plugins are doing. First, let's start with these delays. Let's mute this just to show you what this does. So this first delay is just doing simple eighth note delays. Let's see what it sounds like. (electronic drum beat with delay) Alright, so next we're going to unmute the filter delay. (electronic drum beat with delay) See how that gives the delay more movement, like 16th note delays.
