- So, remember when I showed you how to tweak a drum loop out with Melodyne in the pitch shifting chapter? Well, we're going to take that same loop and turn it into a bass line using distortion. Now let's recap and see what that loop sounds like. Now, I've added a kick and a snare to this, so you can just hear these two together. (drum-based tones) Okay, so now what we're going to do is load my favorite distortion plugin of all time, called Ohmicide, made by a bunch of amazing French fellows that go by Ohm Force. These guys make amazing stuff, so be sure to check them out online. Okay, so let me explain a little bit about what Ohmicide does without getting into every single button and knob. Ohmicide is a multi-band distortion plugin. If you're familiar with multi-band compression, then you'll already have an idea of how this works.
