Impulse parameters
- [Instructor] One shot drum samples often need a bit of tweaking before they'll fit a song. Let's take a look at the impulse controls that can be used to tweak the sample start point, decay, tuning, and other important parameters. So, I've got Exercise Three from Chapter 12 open, and I've already got a track set up here with a MIDI drum loop and an Impulse preset. Now, in an earlier video, I mentioned that the parameters below the pads can be set independently for each pad, and the last three parameters over here on the right are global and will affect the output of all the samples. So, let's begin over here on the left hand side. So, the first parameter we have here is the Start parameter and that controls the start point of the sample that's on a pad. And this can be used to adjust the attack. So, let's solo the kick pad. And we can do that by clicking the button in the upper right hand corner, and I'm going to play the drum loop and adjust that parameter. (beat plays) So…
