- [Instructor] Setting up custom MIDI mapping assignments can be time consuming, so Ableton Live automaps macros and device parameters to controllers that are compatible with the program. The number of controllers that take advantage of this instant mapping include well known controllers like the Akai APC40, the Novation Launchpad, and many others. So let's open up exercise three from chapter 14, and if you're wondering if your controller is one of those native controllers, you can go to the Ableton website, and on the website if you do a search for the compare editions to see what the difference between Live Standard and Live Suite, you can scroll down to this compatible hardware area and you'll find this section on Ableton Live controllers. So right off the bat you'll see they're listing the APC40 and the Launchpad, but if you scroll down, you'll see that there's a bunch of others.
