- [Narrator] Controlling device parameters and triggering session view clips and scenes is a big part of using Ableton both in the studio and in live performance. If you haven't purchased a push yet or don't have a MIDI controller with the necessary control knobs and switches, remember the key map mode can be used to configure the computer keyboard to control devices and trigger scenes and clips. Let's open up exercise one from chapter 14, and let's start by taking a look at a couple of these buttons that we see here in the upper right-hand corner of the control bar. The button that looks like a keyboard will enable or disable keyboard mode. When that's active, there are certain key assignments on your computer keyboard that can be used to play notes into live. Remember that the row starting with the letter A would be the white keys on your MIDI keyboard. There's a new key command in live that will enable and disable that button, and it's the letter M.
