- So now that we've laid a few things down that we're happy with, at least I'm happy with it, it's time to sort of talk about why we're doing all of this and why we're taking the steps that we're taking. When I'm just trying to create something to express myself, to have fun, I do definitely want to be able to sort of finish my tracks and have a goal in mind even if the goal is a little bit amorphous in that I'm just trying to create something I like. Trying to make art, it's open ended. So one of the things that I wanted to mention before we go any further on a technical level, is just trusting your process and knowing that you have the skills to take things across the goal line in the future. One of the mistakes I see a lot of young producers making is worrying about things like does the kick drum sound tight enough, how big is this snare drum, is the drop crazy?
