- [Instructor] The looper device in a excellent tribute to the classical looping pedals. It's centered around a multi-purpose transport button which you can map to a foot switch and operate just like you would with a hardware device. Hit once to start recording. Hit again to start looping and overdubbing. Hit again for loop playback. Along with the strengths of the traditional looping approach the looper carries its limitations as well. The main one for me is the fact that once a layer has been overdubbed, it can't be separated from the rest of the audio. Let's find out how we can overcome this hurdle. In this example, I've puled in four of the presets into a MIDI track and I'd like to include some audio sources as well so I'll use Command or Control+T to create an audio track. This track will contain another rack of loopers. I'll set its channel to two and Monitor to in. Now, I'll go to Audio Effects, grab an Audio Effects rack, unfold it and then add a looper to the rack.
