- [Narrator] Let's build a template set where each looping layer has a track of its own. We'll incorporate both audio and MIDI sources and plan a recording and looping five individual clips lined up in the scene. Though, of course, it can be as many of them as you like. In life, there is an important difference between MIDI and audio clips. MIDI clips can accept overdubs but audio clips cannot. If we want more than one audio layer each of them will have to go into its own clip on its own track. In this setup, clips have to be recorded one at a time. So in order for them loop in sync, we'll need to be on the grid. I'll turn the click on and leave quantization at one bar. I want to continue using a single pedal to enter and exit recording. I prefer it to using multiple pedals or buttons. Using my foot on one pedal that's always in the same place doesn't require much visual focus and allows it to become automatic.
