Quick history of traditional drum machines

- [Instructor] There are some classic drum machines that have really influenced so many electronic genres over the years. One of these is the TR-808 from Roland that we're looking at now. The TR-808 has been featured on so many tracks in acid house, house, hip-hop. And it features a really great step sequencer, which allows you to program in different drum patterns, and also features ways to quickly adjust the volume and tuning and other parameters of those patterns. We also have the TR-909, another classic. In Ableton Live we have versions of these drum machines that were meticulously sampled so you can use them within the software. If you're using Ableton Push 2, you can even use features like the step sequencer and other parameters that the classics had to program your drum sounds.
