- [Instructor] Now that you're familiar with the different rack types, we'll discuss some advanced parameters that we skipped past in earlier videos. So let's take a look at the rack zone editors which allow you to create key splits, velocity zones, or switch between effects. So let's go ahead and open up exercise four from chapter 13 and we'll start with this split track. Let me start by saying that the zone editors we're going to look at are essentially data filters, and in this case they're filtering the MIDI data. Now the first one that we're going to look at will allow us to set up key splits. So you'll notice on this split track down here in the instrument rack I've got an EP, or electric piano sound, and I've got a bass sound on a second device chain. Now if I put that track in record so that we can monitor notes that I play, and I play a note I'm going to trigger both devices to make a sound simultaneously.
