Recording and overdubbing MIDI

- [Instructor] In the previous chapter, we discussed how to record MIDI in arrangement view. While there are several similarities when recording MIDI in session view, there are also some important differences. So let's take a look at how you record, overdub record, and pencil enter MIDI in session view. So I've got a default set open and let's start by loading a sound. So I'm going to go to the instruments category and to impulse and I'm going to grab this impulse 606 preset that we've been using and I'm going to load it to this selected track by clicking and dragging it onto the track. Now I could double click it. I could also drag it onto the track name or drag it down into the drop an instrument or sample here area. With that loaded, we see that the track is record enabled and we see that the stop buttons on all these clip slots on that track turned into record buttons. So we're almost ready to record, but I want to do a few other things. First of all, let's go into the edit menu…
