- [Instructor] Reverb and delay plugins can be added directly to audio and MIDI tracks, but it's more efficient to place them on return tracks where they can process the signals from multiple tracks. So let's take a look at how you use sends and returns in Ableton Live. So let's open up exercise three from chapter nine, and I'll start by mentioning that plugins like EQs and compressors don't place a lot of load on your computer's CPU, and it's likely that you could put one of each on every track in your live set and your computer would be able to play that set without any problem. But if we did the same thing with reverb plugins, it's very likely that you would have problems, so it's much more efficient to place those types of plugins on return tracks where you can share them with multiple tracks.
