Since it's up to me to fire up the next song when we finished the previous one, I try to make that transition as seamless as possible. I'm busy enough playing the songs, I'd like the transition to be reduced to one button push, if I can make it happen. So, if everything goes well, all I need to do is just hit Play and the next song is already selected. And as soon as I hit the button, all the patches switch, all the sounds change everywhere on the stage, including my rig quite importantly. And everything is ready to go on, on a moment's notice. Let's look at the Ableton file and see how a show like this can be set up and operated. The Session view is well suited for this, because the horizontal rows here, called scenes, contain all the clips that need to be triggered at the start of each song.
