Technology as an extension of musicianship

I was always interested in computers and I was always interested in expanding the sound palette and slowly over time I learned a lot of lessons. About first and foremost how to keep it safe, how to avoid dropouts and stuck notes and whatever other issues we had back then. But certainly, over the ten years that have passed since, a lot of the issues have been ironed out. Computers have become much, much more powerful. And now, incredible things are possible. For example, running a show like this on one computer, I would say is probably still uncommon on stage these days. For me, it was sort of a natural outgrowth of the fact that I'm a keyboard player. I play keyboards first and foremost and other stuff becomes sort of an extension of that. Oh, well, how do I expand the sound pellet? How do I get access to an incredible number of scents and samplers and effects without lugging around a huge rack of stuff?
