Using the exercise files
If you're a premium member of Lynda.com, you have access to the exercise files used throughout this course. They are available by downloading the ZIP file from this course's page on the website. Double-click the ZIP file to uncompress it. Inside will be an Ableton Live set for each video where appropriate. And they're named with the chapter and video number. For example, chapter three, video number four. Also included are all of the audio files, samples, and presets that you'll need. As long as you don't move these files and folders out of the exercise files, all files should link properly. The show file used throughout the course is an example of a 16-song set. But, of course, this is a fictional show, so much of the file is not filled in with sounds, devices, automation, etc. I'll take you through building some of those elements for five original pieces that will give you a great starting point for creating your own show file. If you're a monthly member or annual member of Lynda.com, you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can still follow along using your own Live sets.
