- [Instructor] One of the most exciting parts of Ableton 10 upgrade was the addition of a new software instrument that's included with Live Suite. Wave table is as it suggests, a wave table synthesizer. So let's start by taking a look at wave table's oscillators and unison feature. So I've just got a default set open, let's grab wave table from the instruments category of the browser and let's just drop it on this first track. So at its most basic, wave table oscillators can output single wave forms or they can draw wave forms from a wave table. And then they use filters and envelopes and LFOs to shape sound using basic synthesis techniques. So let's take a look at the first oscillator here in wave table, and right off the bat I'm going to tell you that it's easier to move around this device if you use the unfold button.
