- [Narrator] So, as I mentioned before in this course, a lot of what you hear in electronic music is written in automation. Automation is used to automate parameters to build excitement and suspense in a track, and basically in Ableton Live any knob any fader that you see in the software can be automated. So that can be a filter. That can be an amp envelope. There's a lot of things you can do. Volume and pan. But basically what we're gonna do is add a little bit more suspense in our track on the intro with automation. So, I have this shaker track here, and I'm gonna be using Ableton Push for this. We're gonna stay and note, but I'm actually gonna turn on repeat. So we now have our note repeat on, and as you can see it's flashing, and I have eight notes selected. So, let's listen to that. Here's my shaker track. I'm just gonna expand that, and by the way, I am using this mash for live instrument. So, it's an oscillator that's generating the shaker. I'm just gonna go to bar one here…
