- [Instructor] If we've done our job well and we're methodical in the application of the database development life cycle, then at this point we should have a fairly good plan for how the database should be put together. Before we dive into the relational database management system, let's quickly review how we got to this point. We started with a well defined mission statement that has guided the overall process and made sure we stayed true to the task that we set out to accomplish. Then we broke the mission statement into smaller, more specific components called mission objectives. These spoke directly to the types of tasks that need to be performed in order to meet the overall project goals. We then identified the actors or the stakeholders in the project and matched them with subject matter experts within the organization and interviews were conducted to find out what they would need in order to accomplish the mission objectives.
